How It Works

Are you tired of sending multiple emails requesting 1099 data, only to receive drips of info from texts and emails? eFileBuddy has you covered!

 

1. Our Automated Option uses cutting-edge software for quick, compliant, and accurate filing. Your client gets an automated invite to their own portal. Where they enter their W-9 information and their contractor's 1099 data. You review and file the prepared 1099 when the client clicks Submit to Accountant for Approval.

 

2. Our Manual Option offers you, the Accountant, complete control over the filing process. You can create an account for your client by entering their W-9 information, their contractor details, and 1099 data. Allowing you to manage the account yourself and file 1099s without requiring client input.

 

3. The Hybrid Option combines the benefits of both previous options to ensure streamlined tax filing. A popular approach by many Accountants, is to manually enter your client's 1099s the first year and click Request Client Approval. Your client is notified via email to click into the dashboard eFileBuddy automatically creates for them.

 

They review the prepared 1099s and click Submit to Accountant for Filing. The 1099s are moved from the Waiting for Client Approval column to the Ready to File, and we will notify you to click File. Your client gets an email that their 1099s are filed, and they can access them through the included link to their dashboard.

 

We educate your clients throughout the year, and next year their contractors will already be in their dashboard. When we remind them to enter the amount paid and Submit it for Filing, they know exactly what to do, and you simply click File in your dashboard. And you are all done!

This hybrid approach accomplishes two purposes:

- Your clients can review and approve the exact 1099 being filed, ensuring accuracy and compliance, making the automated approach preferred for its transparency and precision.

 

- It enables your clients to familiarize themselves with accessing their dashboard, facilitating future self-management. All previous contractors are already listed in their dashboard, streamlining and automating the process for both parties.
